GENERAL BURATAI REITERATES GRATITUDE TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI AND NIGERIANS

several people have been killed while properties were set ablaze in a communal clash between residents of Ukoh Ntighe and Uda community, Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The incident happened on Monday morning, 1st march 2021, around 6am. This comes exactly one week after gunmen suspected to be cultists on Monday attacked a police checkpoint in Akwa Ibom, killing one inspector, setting a police van ablaze, and leaving several other security personnel  injured with bullet wounds. Remembering, it was reported that residents of Obaritin and Obagie communities in Edo state engaged themselves in a communal clash as a result of land dispute.

Ecosystem will be affected if govt destroys bandits hideouts in forest, FG says

The Federal Government has stated that it will not destroy forests where bandits use as hideouts to carry out kidnappings in the country because the ecosystem will be affected. The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, said this while speaking on a television programme on how to eliminate bandits. He said the best solution to eliminating bandits from the forest was to have better consultation between sub-national government, the federal government and security agencies. Adeyanju’s Rights NGO Not Registered With Us, Says CAC The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, has denied the registration of Concerned Nigeria, a civil society organisation said to be owned by Frontline activist, Deji Adeyanju, Daily Independent gathered on Friday The commission made this disclosure via correspondence to Francis Xavier Solicitors and Advocate, Abuja, who had asked to ascertain the status of the said NGO for undisclosed reasons. The deployment of two surveillance helicopters and ground force to rescue 317 abducted students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara State,  The Nigeria Police Force has commenced a coordinated search operation  to rescue them. SEVEN FEMALE STUDENTS ESCAPE:ZAMFARA SCHOOL GIRLS ABDUCTION

It has been reported that 7 out of the 317 female students abducted by bandits at the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Zamfara State, have escaped from their abductors. It was gathered that the girls returned home after claiming that they outsmarted and manoeuvered the bandits while trekking along the forest. It was earlier reported that the students were abducted from their boarding school in the early hours of Friday. Abutu Yaro,  The Zamfara Police Commissioner, had earlier ordered a joint search and rescue operation team with a view to rescuing all 317 students. Although,  Bello Matawalle,  the State Governor, has ordered the immediate closure of all boarding schools in the State.

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Friday refuted reports that it attempted to arrest Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho in Oyo State. It was reported that an angry mob on Friday, 26 february 2021, attacked journalists who were commuting to Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Zamfara State. It was earlier reported that 317 School girls were abducted from the school in the early hours of Friday. It was gathered that angry residents mounted road blocks inside Jangebe town, attacked the vehicles conveying journalists, and resisted security officer and Government officials. Sources say the residents threw stones at the vehicles and smashed part of the vehicle, and inflicted injuries on one of the cameramen identified as Babangida Calipha. However,  Abutu Yaro,  the Zamfara Police Commissioner, said security men have commenced a search and rescue operation aimed at rescuing the girls.

Specifically, the Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, who has constituted himself into an emissary meeting with bandits in forests across Kaduna, Zamfara, Katsina and Niger states, alleged in one of such outings, that non-Muslim soldiers had carried out orchestrated killings in some communities, precipitating anger.
