AFENIFERE DENIES ENDORSING TINUBU.

The South-West based socio-political group, Afenifere, has denied supporting the presidential bid of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, or any aspirant for the 2023 presidential election. This is coming on the heels of a viral statement by the leader of South West Agenda, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, purporting that his group secured the support of Afenifere for its candidate during a visit to Pa Reuben Fasoranti, erstwhile Afenifere leader, on Tuesday 6 April. Although, Afenifere denied endorsing any candidate in a statement by  Sola Lawal,    its Director of Communications, titled, ‘Afenifere denies endorsing presidential aspirant’, on Wednesday 7 April. Lawal stated that the group is still mourning the demise of its Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, in whose honour the group suspended all engagements. TENSION IN APC AS STATE CHAIRMEN DEMAND IMMEDIATE CONDUCT OF CONVENTION AND CONGRESSES.

State chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday demanded an immediate conduct of the party’s congresses to pave the way for the national convention to usher in a new National Working Committee (NWC) of the party. The party chairmen, under the auspices of the Forum of State Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress, told journalists in Abuja that it was time for the party to hold the national convention, billed for June, after the conclusion of the membership revalidation and registration.      Meanwhile, contrary to expectations that the membership drive would’ve been concluded by Wednesday as originally planned, the National Caretaker, Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the party yesterday extended it again, by three weeks.
